Problem with 2000 Stratus
I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus with 2.4 liter engine. While shopping the other night the car just died in the shopping center after about 1 1/2 hours of driving. The first time it stalled out it started right back up but stalled out again right away and this time it would not start. If you wait about 5 minutes the car would re-start but would only run for a few minutes before stalling out again. This continued like this for the next 20 minutes before I decided to park the car. I came back to it about 2 hours later and started the car up and it ran fine for 15 minutes so I decided to drive it home, which I did with no problems. Over the last couple days I would run the car since it was cold out and it would run fine with no problems. Today I took it out and drove several places which took me about 1 1/2 hours and again the car stalled out and wouldn't start for 5 minutes or so but when it did start up again it would only run for a couple minutes and the stall out again. I waited again about 2 hours like the other night and started the car and was able to drive it home again with no problems. Please does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong. All help is greatly appreciated.
Since this problem is only happening after the car has been driven for an extended period of time, could this be the fuel pump relay or the ASD relay? Just read about both of these or is this the fuel pump even though the car starts right up if it has been sitting for an extended period of time, basically when the engine is cold.
