2000 ES Question
Alright so i'm buying a 2000 dodge stratus ES, v6... its in decent shape, runs great, but has pretty high milage (about 280k) i know the guy that owns it pretty good and i think last year he threw a new distributor and a new tps on it... he drives it daily right now but is getting a different car... so what kinda issues should i be expecting with this car? i mean obviously normal wear and tear but are there any weaknesses besides the distributor i should look out for? i can't really pass the car up its got a lot of miles but its mostly all highway miles so its not as bad as it seems i've driven the car and it drives fine and deff don't feel like it has that many miles on it... besides i'm getting it for 600 so its not like i'm paying much for it...
2000 es (you're getting the v6 right?) here.
I have 178,000mi on it. I picked it up to beat the crap out of to deliver pizza. Even with oil change intervals in the 15,000mi range, its refusing to give up. Only problems I've had with it so far was the gasket on the transmission solenoid, a very easy fix (more expensive now that the actual gasket isn't sold separate anymore. Valve cover gaskets, the rear 3 are a pain to get to since the intake has to come off, it sits OVER them. Turn signals, they refuse to flash. The part is 150, and I haven't bothered to change it yet. Driver side front wheel bearing. Nothing unusual for the mileage! I would say if he's still driving it with that many miles on it, it's all highway miles, great for a car! If the price is right, and you're comfortable with it, than go for it

Yeah its the V6 the thing is pretty much loaded... leather, power everything... and yeah it runs and drives great so i'm deff going for it and the distributor has been replaced so thats good... it could probably use a basic tune up so i will probably do that right away...
