i know im a ram guy but i figured i would post to ask a question for a friend, my friend just got a 96 stratus 4 door, and im trying to switch the radio out but cant for the life of me get it to turn on, red to red and so on for the wiring harness but still nothing tried grounding to a few different places, with no results, any help would be apreciated, also im using the schoshe wiring harness said for a 95-01 stratus-and then a 02+ wanted to make sure thats the right one also, thanks in advance for any tips

 

There is nothing fancy about the wiring there. Even if you forget the amplifier turn on (if equipped with premium speakers), you will still get the highs, attach the blue/bluewhite and you're good to go there.

I would take a volt meter to the constant wire (yellow) and to the switched wire (red) and ensure that you're getting voltage on both when in "ACC/Run" modes, and on only one of them on "off". (my recollection of the wires may be backwards) Silly question, but have you checked the 10a radio fuse?

Is your friend switching the radio because the original one didn't turn on, or because he wanted a more fully featured (ie: cd player)...
