Default P0340 OBD code

I'm editing my original message. Long story short, I got the p0340 obd2 code. I ended up replacing the cam position sensor today. I bought a $35 one at Advanced Auto. The check engline light instantly went off as soon as I replaced it so I'm assuming (and hoping) that fixed the issue. However, when I was replacing the sensor, I think I accidently tightend the bolt too much and the sensor has a hairline crack on the top of it now. It's just a tiny crack but do you think this will get worse? Should I just go ahead and replace the sensor again with a new one?

My car is a 03 dodge stratus sxt sedan 2.4 4cyl DOHC with 85k miles
