06 Stratus SXT error code help
For about 2 weeks I have been getting a check engine light with error code P0430 "Catalyst below threshold, bank 2" I know that this means that either the catalytic converter or the O2 sensors can be out of whack.
Weird part is that if I clear the code it does not come back on until I get to a 1/4 tank of fuel. I checked for leaks in the exhaust from the manifolds to the muffler but none are found. There is a pinhole leak in the muffler, but this should not cause the code.
So here is my question, does anyone know if the warranty is transferred from owner 1 to owner 2? This car was a government vehicle and was in a small fender bender and I picked it up with 34k miles on it.
The cat is covered for 8 years or 80,000 according to the warranty book, but am not finding much info on the status on if it transfers to the 2nd owner. I know some warranties from other manufacturers transfer to the 2nd owner but not the 3rd.
If the warranty is not transferable, does anyone know what I should change first to fix the code? I do not want to go out and buy sensors for the light to come back on\, which will be a waste of my time and money.
Thanks
