The AC quit in my Stratus, compressor lockup; I put a used one on just to run the belts ; its got alot of miles on but I just keep rebuilding ; whats a good replacement brand for the compressor and componets ? I would,nt mind getting it going again but have heard of folks spending big money only to have it go out again ; how would you cleanout the evaporator without removing or is that impossible / should you remove it ? The other componets are easy to get to\ replace ; Whats the proper procedures for this ??

 

I have a 99 2.5L stratus and 6 days after having an aftermarket compressor, evap and drier installed due to the original compressor locking up (135k miles) the new compressor blew apart. Dealer tells me the condenser is lacking a needed "condenser kit" per some tsb that was issued relative to compressor failures at high ambient temperatures.
