i just bought a 2004 stratus sxt coupe 2.4L and was wondering how hard it would be to put on a turbo? i read that the motor in the SRT-4 is also a 2.4...is there enough clearance between the block and the radiator to mount the turbo and manifold? will the tubing line up? if anyone else has looked into this please let me know...

 

they are not the same engines. the 2.4 in the SRT is built to take the abuse of a performance driver with lots og horsepower. the 2.4 in the stratus is built to give people good mileage.

 

are the stratuses released in other countries, such as mexico, with the 2.4l turbo engine equipped with the SRT engine, or is the US version capable of handling low boost?

 

The stratus coupe 2.4 is a mitsubishi motor and not related to the 2.4 in the SRT-4 or other sadan stratus's.

 

anyone who doesnt think that mitsu has hand in both of the 2.4 turbo motors is just silly. the stratus in mexico has the same driveline as the PT GT
