My lil sis just bought an '01 R/T over the weekend and she needs new struts all around. We live in Chicago and were wondering where is a good place to get them cheap and how hard they are to do with hand tools. If I can save her the money on taking it in that would be HUGE!

Shop around your area, get quotes from different garages and garage chains.

It's not recommended to even try to replace them due to the high pressure in the springs.

There is a spring compression tool you can get that will safely squeeze the springs. Check your local parts stores to see if this is on the "borrow" list of tools.

 

Yeah, I would just get a spring compressor. Thats pretty easy. I used one when I did the lift on my Jeep.
