Default Welding & Car Battery

I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong with my Stratus (see my post "Quick Help Needed). I did do some Mig welding on the car and I disconnected the POSITIVE cable only. Should I have disconnected both cables? Did this somehow cause my problems?

you never disconnect the positive first or only. always disconnect the negative.

however I weld on cars all the time w/o disconnecting the battery and never had a problem.

did you ever think to connect a real scanner and see if you have communications, get a schematic and multimeter to check for appropriate grounds and power?

Found a fuse that was blown. That fixed the remote problem, however, it still didn't start. Galvanized Yankee said that an engine that doesn't start is lacking fuel or spark. I gave it a shot of starting fluid and it fired right up and kept on running. It's still working fine. Did the fuel "Dry up" in the intake or what? I just wanted to know....
