Default Windshield Wiper Switch

Alright, so I have a small problem that I don't want to have develop into a big problem.

Yesterday morning, I went to wash off the windshield with the fluid from the car. I flipped the little lever switch thing, and nothing happened.

Well, something happened...the switch got stuck...or is stuck? in the "on" position.

Now it's a lever, which means that it also controls the wipers. So far, they seem to work fine, and the switch will stay in place when activating the wipers. However, it is stuck in the "pump water" position. It's almost like the spring is broken or something.

I went to try to "un-stick" it last night, and noticed a piece of plastic is broken on the inside. I'm thinking it's going to have to be replaced.

Is this an easy fix or a hard fix? I know the part is about $100.00 but I'm wondering how hard it is to fix by myself.

I don't want to rip apart the dash (it's cracked badly).

Ideas?
