Default How can I disconnect the ABS

Hi,

I would like to disconnect the ABS. When I come into a turn at a brisk pace often there is water, or dirt, or snow on the inside and the damn sensor won't let me slow down cause it thinks there's a problem and senses the inside tire slipping -- thusly creating a problem!

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Imre

Simplest way to disable the ABS is to pull the fuse that controls it. You WILL get a light on the cluster indicating an issue (which you can ignore). Keep in mind that ABS is a safety feature, and disabling it can cause problems later on, rather than just replacing the sensor that is giving you problems.

yep pull the fuse or relay for the ABS and you can fix the light with electrical tape (black prefered)

or you can just fix it so it works properly. that's what I'd do.

Default Tried fuse (ABS PCM), not relay

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I tried the fuse while the engine was running but it stopped. The fuse was labeled ABS PCM. It's a 96 Stratus. I'll check out the relay after I eat. In Hungary it's dinner time.

Thanks,
Imre

PS: So if one wheel loses traction only that one wheel pulsates? Now I lose major braking power if one wheel locks up.
