99 Dodge Stratus leaking coolant eaking out inside the car on the driver side
Here we go again! I know when my dad was alive he had this problem twice and took it to the dealer, and I thought the heater core was replaced then, about 4 years ago. I once again have anti-freeze leaking inside the car on the passenger side. It doesn't start leaking right away, but the car heats up fast and then it starts leaking out. I'm sure the car would overheat if I let it, but I haven't let it run long enough to do so. Is there anything else that could cause this other than the heater core leaking? could it be clogged? I thought of trying to flush it. The other thing is, I saw on other models that you have to pull the dash out, but I see a black plastic cover under the dash and glove box, it's leaking out of the edge of that where the console meets the dash, so I'm wondering if I can get to the heater core by removing that cover, thanks for any help.

It definately sounds like the heater core (or a line going to or from it). To get to it, pretty sure most of the dash needs to get removed. If you're seeing it leaking from that one spot, keep in mind that it could be dripping down several panels. I don't think that panel is an access point to the core
Correction, I have a 98 not 99 Stratus, I managed to peak in the cover I was speaking of and I can see the blower fan and what looks like maybe the heater core, still not sure, though it does seem a bit low in the care to be the heater core. I want to do a bypass for now until it cools off enough to pull the dash if I have to.
