Default Rear speaker installation - getting to rear deck help

Hey all-
Attempting to install a new system in my 98 Stratus - the deck installation went fine. Now I'd like to replace the rear speakers. Got the trim off around where the seat folds down (almost) but am wondering how the heck to remove each fabric covered side (one on each side of the fold down seat). These are the long corner pieces - looks like they might be hitched somehow, but I can't figure out how to remove them. They need to be removed so I can get the rear deck fabric off and get access to the speakers.

Any ideas would be appreciated (some one here I'm sure has done a self-install of this type stuff).

Regards- W.

Default RE: Rear speaker installation - getting to rear deck help

I too am baffled on how to get to the rear speakers of my '97 Dodge Stratus. I don't have the user's manual since I bought it used (the manual was missing). The closest guide I could find was the following:

(1) Remove upper quarter trim panels.
(2) Remove rear seat cushion and back or quarter extension panels.
(3) Remove push-in fastener holding parcel shelf trim to shelf panel.
(4) Pull trim forward to disengage clip holding trim to shelf panel.

Which was apparently straight out of the instruction manual. I was wondering if there's anything more descriptive and maybe pictures?:P I doubt it, but one can hope can't they?
