Default transmission warm up

For the first 5-10 minutes of cold weather driving my car revs about 500 rpms higher then normal. as it warms up the rpm drops back to the normal range

Is a trans flush going to correct this? Can I warm up the trans before I drive away (ebrake on in drive?)

Any one else see this?

Thanks

By the way.... its a 96 stratus sedan with a 2.5l auto

Perfectly normal for a 41te trans. But depending on how many miles you have, it might be a good idea anyways to remove the pan, clean the magnet, replace the filter, drive ~~1,000mi and repeat process. I don't recommend using one of those quickie places to do a pressurized flush, as this tends to knock loose sediment that can then cause other (catastrophic) problems.

I had a trans service (drain and fill, no flush) at 80,000. I'm at about 140,000 now, so a trans service was in mind already. I guess I'll avoid getting a flush and just stick with the drain and fill.

thanks
