I see a lot fo guys circle track racing Neons with 2.4's bolted in. Car part interchange manuals show transmissions fit between 2.0/2.4. I'd think the only issue would be you'd need the PCM for the 2.4 since the 2.0 computer would be expecting fuel and ignition based on 2 liters of displacement instead of 2.4L. I also know that the cloud cars (Cirrus/Stratus/Breeze) all were available with a 2.4 so there's no doubt you could put a 2.4 in your car as a bolt in deal.

I just looked at some common sense to figure out that if the car was available with a 2.4, then 2.4 would have to fit. I can't imagine they'd change the frame rails and anchor points between the 2.0 vs the 2.4 engines. Seems to me that the 2.0/2.4 is very much like the old 2.2/2.5 engines. A lot of interchangeability. From what I'm reading, guys like to use 2.4 pistons in the 2.0 for increased compression. Also finding that racers like the 2.4 head with 2.0 DOHC cams.
