I have a 2004 Stratus SXT with 2.4 liter engine and auto tranny. I wanted to know does any one know its 0 - 60 and quarter mile, and top speed numbers? I know its slow, and i plan on changing that, but i wanted to know what it was before i started modifications.

 

i dont know, but its probably VERY bad. my RT with work done to it only runs the 1/4 in a 16.11 best..i dont know what my 0-60 is, but im looking at one of my timeslips, and on a pretty good run, i went 0-71 in about 10.4 seconds...so figure, your numbers are likely to be quite a bit worse than those. sorry i cant give you exact numbers, but i dont know where i would even find that info.

 

I did find out on Caranddriver.com that a v-6 stratus automatic goes 0-60 in 8.7 seconds and a manual v-6 is 7.7 seconds. My 2.4 liter automatic with 52 less hp must take over 10 seconds! That sucks! I don't think i will be able to make this car reasonabablly fast (0-60 under 7 seconds) while spending 5 grand or less on modifications. What do you guys think?

um..i guess a huge nitrous shot would put you under those times...are you a stick or auto?

 

I have an auto. I wondering why the numbers for the stratus are so slow. A chevy cobalt weighs 2940 pounds has 145 hp and 155 pd-ft and goes 0-60 in 8.4 seconds with a 4 speed auto. I find it hard to believe a Toyota Echo (8.5 seconds to 60, 1/4 mile in 16.7 @ 82) is faster than not only my beautiful SXT (mine is same color as BadStrat's) but also a 6 cylinder Stratus! I[&o]

 

those cars are both much smaller and much lighter than you car...
