2002 stratus motor problem

I picked up a stratus today with a 2.7 motor in it that hardly runs it spits pops and the valve are noisey and you have to give it gas to get that.. what will cause this?

Pull the Oil Dip stick, check for "Coffee with extra cream" in ur oil pan.
I would also recommend you to pull the Valve cover up and check for Sluge build up.
The older 2.7l motor is a boat anchor.
