Default '01 R/T with A/C problems

Hello, I'm new here just got a 2001 Stratus R/T with a 5sp this past weekend and I tried re-charging the A/C today and my valve reads 150psi which is as high as the gauge goes so possibly higher. In order to turn the A/C on I have to push in the dial that controls the temperature. When its on the yellow light blinks, I'm wanting to know if that means there is a problem with the compressor or what the flashing light means. Thanks for any/all help.

It sounds to me like you way overfilled that puppy. At 90 degrees ambient temperature for instance, the pressure guage should read between 45 and 55 psi. At the pressure yours is reading I wouldn't be surprised if you blow something out. Hopefully somebody more experienced will come along and offer assistance as well.

This is an instructional video I watched on how to recharge my a/c. It is not intended as spam.

Or is that the reading you got before you even tried to add refrigerant? My apologies if I mis-read your post.

yea thats the intial reading I got before adding the refrigerant, which happens to bee the same arctic freeze in the video you added, IT was a used car so guess I can't expect everything to be perfect, I tried adding the refrigerant for about 5min and after that the bottle still felt full, my guess its way overfilled and energy follows the path of least resistance so none of the new stuff got added, but I thought they had pressure release valves somewhere in the plumbing, I'm probably gonna take it in this weekend.

Hey stanman911 not sure if this applies to your vehicle but have you tried an hvac recalibration as decribed in the following thread? It involves simply pulling the M1 fuse and it might be worth a try before you tackle something more expensive. Honestly, I'm a n00b here so you probably shouldn't listen to me but since I'm going through the same process myself right now I thought I'd just throw it out there:
