there is no "chip"...you can fork out a TON of cah for an ECU from ripp mods, or you can send yours to kenne bell for their optimizerII program, which evidently adds like 18hp..but its like 450 bucks...something like that...its steep.

as for the headers search ebay for headers for an RT, or for an 01-05 eclipse GT or GTS. you can go through Ripp mods, but their headers are 1700 bucks...the ones on ebay are from a decent company, and are only like 40 bucks..plus, RIpp is having quality issues with their headers from what i understand..

i knwo that it is the same car...you can also get an ECU from an older RT...dont quote me on this, but all of the 01 coupes were ungoverned, and the eariler 2002 RTs were also...what is yours governed to?

i do believe that i have heard mention of swapping with the GTS and getting rid of the issue, but keep in mind it may effect how it runs, as the GTS has a different intake manifold. i believe that it has the same intake manifold as the 6G74s...

My caps out at 135 mph. I am in germany so i got plenty of room for more speed. I am looking at putting in new headers anyways so the intake manifold shouldnt be a problem right. I just wish there was more parts out for my car. let me know

hoenstly, check around for GTs headers on ebay...the kit that i saw contained the headers, y pipe, and cat..for like 450 or so...

the intake manifold i have been told is on the newer monteros, and galants, as well as the GTS's..it is supposed to help quite a bit.
