Default Water on Passenger Floor Board

I have a 2004 Stratus with the 2.7L V6.

Over the last 2-3 months I have been attempting to ascertain as to why my carpet on the passenger side has been completely soaked. I thought it was originally rain water and have, but when raining and performing self testing with a hose I have found no leaks.

Next step was checking the AC drain hose and as far as I can tell there is no clog and I have done the best I can to clean it.

Here is my issue, it is not radiater fluid from the heater core as it is straight clear water and does not smell like it or feel like it either. It is plain clear H2O and is not a steady flow only drips and runs.

I am at a dead stop and with in a breaths hair from taking it to a mechanic to resolve (but don't really want to spend the money I don't have).

Any help would be great.

Just sitting in it and watching for water doesn't really do much unless the leak is huge and coming from up high. You're going to have to get crazy and start pulling trim panels and pull the carpet back. More than likely a body seam. Look in your wiper cowl area and see if it's packed with leaves and grass ans such.

TNtech, tank you for the reply. Please do not get me wrong and please do not take this as me being rude.

I did crawl underneath and check the AC drain tube as well removed the trim panels around the door and end of the dash. As well (to my misfortune) I actually cut the carpet and removed it from the passenger side.

I have not removed the cowling around the wipers yet and will do that to see if I notice anything. My big concern is that it does not happen when it is raining and I have hosed it down with a hose. It happens mostly when I am running the AC and I have also noticed recently to include the heat.

Can you see inside where the drain part of the HVAC case butts up to the firewall? It may be trailing back in from the outside when it drains.

If it leaks when u us the A/C, ur A/C drain is definitely clog.
Best way to clean it is go under the car and blow it with compressed air. the other way is poke around with a Cloth Hanger.

For something like this, Sometimes we blow air "trying" to clean the A/C drain for free if we rack up the car for an Oil Change and Tire Rotation, or any other service. Just walk by ur mechanic, shake his hand with $5 in ur palm, and ask him to blow the A/C drain for you. It only takes like 2 minute when the car is alrdy up in the air.

I took some suggestions and had the tech do it for me with a real firm and fruitful handshake and that was it! Appreciate all the help and suggestions.

Thanks a lot!
