Default transmission longevity and failure symptoms

i have an 01 rt coupe automatic and it just hit 104k miles. im wondering what the longevity of the transmissions in these cars are and when they start to go what are the common symptoms? this is only the 2nd automatic car ive ever owned and the other one was a lexus es300 and the tranny never had any issues. im curious/worried because ive heard that Chrysler products weakest links are their transmissions.

Well, you have a Mitsubishi Eclipse with a Chrysler badge. Those trans a pretty decent. Change the fluid frequently, it should go 200k+ without any failure.
I found those Mitsubishi you have fairly reliable, so is the Lexus es, You surely know how to buy cars.
common Chrysler trans issue? pre-2000 product they seems to be more problematic, some trans a underrated for the vehicle. Like a 3 speed in a Minivan. We hardly seen trans faiure nowaday unless you Race your car frequently.

my last car actually was a 01 bmw 325i with a manual, then before that was the lexus and before that was an 98 325i (manual) and then my first car a 89 bmw 325i (manual)so this car is a venture into a new kind of car so im alittle apprehensive just because im not really familiar american made cars, front wheel drive cars or automatics. lol thank for the info and the reassurance.
