Default Fuel System Question

I have a 2001 Stratus Sedan with a 2.7L. I am not getting any fuel to the rails, not even a drop. I replaced the entire fuel pump assembly with a new one and added 5 gallons of gas. I can hear the pump turn on but still no fuel to the rails. Any ideas?

How about the fuel filter? A pinched fuel line? Does the punmp ever stop? If it runs cointinually and there are no leaks, the pump is cavatating ( sucking air instead of gas).

If your referring to the fuel filter that is attached to the pump assembly then yes. I'm not aware of an in line filter on this vehicle. The pump stays on for about 3 seconds.

Could a faulty fuel pressure regulator cause there to be no fuel to the rails?
Do the 2001 Stratus's have a fuel system cut off or inertia switch?

There is no fuel cut-off switch. Have you disconnected the fuel line where it attaches to the rails to see if it is pumping? The fuel pump is only supposed to come on for one second with the key in the on position but will pump while you are cranking the vehicle.

The fuel pressure regulator is part of the fuel pump. If the pump stops after a few seconds it indicates you are probably getting fuel pressure. You are just going to find out where in the fuel delivery system the blockage happens. There is a in-line fuel filter attached to the rear cross member.
