i was pulling out of a gas station and when i got onto the road me car wouldnt shift out of 1st and just hit the rev limiter and kept going in first. i put ot in low and then back in over drive and it was still in first...... i pulled of to the side of the road and put it in park when i put it back in drive it was stuck in nutral or something so it wouldnt go.... my first thought was that it was mt trans fluid but it was full...... the radiator had no water in it..... anyone have anyclue how thes are related and what i did to my car
sounds to me like your car is stuck in limp mode. its your cars defense against things that are wrong. try filling your cooling system and reset the ecu and see what happens. did your car show a check engine light, overheat or anything? if it showed a checl engine light there may be other problems you are having causing it to go into limp mode.
Brock. Sounds to me like your transmission isnt shifting properly. What year is your car?
Sorry. I forgot to say. All of the models that I know of are shifted by electronics. I remember the days when the good automatic transmissions were out. And they rarely ever defaulted. But now days it doesnt always have to do with the transmission its self.
So in short. You need to know what you are doing with these electronics to start messin with it. Best thing to do would be to get it towed to an authorized dealer if you still got the warranty. If not then I would take it to an auto-body shop and they are always willing to "Diagnose" the exact problem.
