Dead Battery
I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus with a problem. Car runs good and drives fine it just has somethimg that drains the batterry when it sits overnight. I checked the batt and it is not that, I can drive the car all day but after it sits overnight when I try to start it the batt is drained. I know there are only a few things that are connected to the battery when key is in the off position was just wondering if anyone has had this problem and what do I need to look for?
You have to assure that every electrical device is off including the interior lights. Put an ammeter in series with one battery cable. You should be drawing less than one Amp. If you draw more, start pulling fuses until you find the one that lowers the current draw. That way you can isolate what the problem is. We have found the trunk light to be an often cause.
Did you get your battery check out?
Most of the time the Battery is not holding charge, hence it goes down over night. Get the Battery tested or Replaced should be the first step.
Or you can Disconnect the Battery over night, hook it back up in the morning, and see if battery dies with everything disconnected.
and Make sure you get a brush and Clean the Battery terminal.

I like that idea steak.....I would do the same thing since you said that the battery had been checked. I had the same problem with mine but it was the battery. It would hold a charge for a few days then die. Since the car sits most of the time it was always dead. I took it to Firestone and they tested it and found that there was a problem. Luckily it was a 75 month warranty and it was only about 36 months into it so I got a new Interstate battery for $38.
