i am new to the dodge forum and well heres the deal..the car has 130000 and i have only had the car for a few months. I have noticed that on start up cold it will put out a good cloud of white smoke and then go away..coolant oil fine.. well then the other day we had went out of town and was pulling out of a parking lot back on the road and was accerelerating kinda heavy and it started cutting out loss of power and a large amount of smoke was comeing from tail pipe the check engine light came on and then went it started running fine smoke cleared up and light went off.. does anyone have any ideas on this..

what i have been told it could be..
pcv valve
catalytic converters
head gasket
valve seals
one of many sensers
or motor going bad..

i am all out of ideas.. i checked codes p 0300 0582 0586 0508 0113 0123..which before i checked it i didi mess with sensers around the intake so that i am sure is why i got some of the codes..

 

i beleave i have figured it out we will see...i beleave it is the pcv valve pluged up and it was putting oil in the intake because there was alot in the plenum i have pulled it off and trying to clean all the oil out of it, replace the gaskets and pcv valve..we will see what happens..

 

well i have a last up date....i reinstalled everything took it for a test drive and it ran great..no smoke no hesitation more power then what i remember when i bought it..so recap.. if your car smokes on start up or turning or at all CHECK THE PCV valve and look in the inside of your intake..you might have the same problem i did..what all was replaced and how much..

pcv valve..6.00
plenum gasket set. 9.00 ( took it off to clean all oil out of it)
degreaser.. 4.00

i hope maybe it will help someone else like me that had no clue what to do or what to check...
