Default Engine stops, new radio to blame?

I installed a new radio today, first time I have ever done so. It's a '05, and had no problem prior to this.

Now that the radio is installed I turn on the engine and it runs for a second, and turns off. While it does this, no dash lights come on EXCEPT the odometer which displays a single 0.

I'm completely lost...Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I put the factory radio back in and it works just fine, but I really would ilke this after market radio in and functioning.

With help from another person on a different forum I fixed the problem by disconnecting a wire that was connected to the data bus system (factory color on this model was purple with a yellow stripe)

the scorsche harness connects with a "tes mute" (brown) wire. I disconected and isolated it, and that solved the problem

hopefully this will help someone else in the future.
