2003 Dodge Stratus Sedan - fuel gauge issues
Hey guys, I'm new on here as I'm a GM guy but my fiancee's car is a 2003 Dodge Stratus Sedan and it's having a couple of issues.
First and most importantly, the fuel gauge is not accurate. When the gauge reads empty the tank only takes about 11 gallons but the dealership says it has a 16 gallon tank. Also, it fluctuates a lot. It may read half full one time and then the next time it is started it might read 3/4 or 1/4 or anywhere in between(while parked on level ground). Then who knows what it will read the next time.
Generally the gauge give a fairly good idea of the amount of fuel but it is getting worse and worse. Do I need a new sending unit or new pump assembly? Suggestions?
The other small issue it has is that every time you open or close the door there is a small black arm that goes from the door jamb to the door that makes a loud clicking noise. I'll post a picture of this later.
Thanks!
