well as some of you might remember i posted a month or so back about some major transmission problems i was having with my 01 r/t coupe. well i learned why i have destroyed every automatic transmission ive ever owed. i never know that you are supposed to check the fluid with the car running. after learning that i discovered my transmission was about 2 quarts low(when it was hot it came to the top of the cold section on the dipstick) so a quart or tranny fluid and a quart of lucas transmission fluid later it it at the top of the full mark(but not over full) i havent done much driving since because ive been sick but it seems like the slipping has gone away. the fluid that was in there before i filled it was still red and didnt smell burned it was alittle darker then the new stuff but not by much(i will be doing a flush in the next 4 weeks when i have the cash to). i drove it for about 800-1000 miles definitively low and it was driven for a possible 1-2k miles before that low but not so low it was causing problems. could i have damaged my tranny or is it probably ok?
