Default ???? lost ????

i have a 98 stratus 2.4L that runs fine for about 50-75 miles/ or 1-2 hrs of driving. then the only way i can desribe it is a dead gas pedal. it will run at idle and just off idle, any more than that and it just dies out. i have replaced plugs wires coil pack o2 sensor thermostat, and the problem is still there just takes longer for it to show itself, now once the car starts to act up it takes 24hrs plus of not running the car before i can drive the 1-2 hrs with out problem. i had all trouble coods cleared (poor mans way, disconected battery) before this last time and after it acted up took the car to autozone, got told the codes were for lean bank 1. and random cylinder multiple misfire. i've had alot of people (most that never even herd the car run while acting up) tell me all sorts of things. my thought is either egr valve has carbon build up cuasing the internal cylinder temp to get to hot. or the fuel filter dirty, pressuer regulator fulty, other fuel problems. (only thinking that since its coded for running lean.) any thoughts from people that know about this nasty lil dodge 2.4L?

I would lean towards IAC or MAF sensor being bad. Engine gets up to temp, and starts lowering the gas mixture based on bad readings. Now you're running lean since it is reading wrong, and compensating by lowering the fuel/air mixture. Check your air filter...
