Default Tranny Leak Issues

Hey everyone, I'm New here like the site already.
I have tried and tried to get my leaks to stop.
Here is what I have done so far.
Changed the fluid and filter, +4 fluid.
Used a rubber pan gasket. That would leak. Tried another and that would still leak. I did not over tighten. I know better. Tried the original Mopar Silicone pan gasket. That would still leak. Tried cork gasket. That would still leak. When I say Leak I really mean a small drip. Went back to Mopar silicone gasket. Still drips even after I let it sit for awhile to cure. I have a lot of wrench time and have changed hundreds of pan gaskets and have never had this problem with any other Mopar pan gasket. I always used cork gaskets(our entire tranny shop I used to work at swears by them) and I did too. My only logical guess would be the tranny vent is plugged up causing pressure to build and fail at the weakest point(that being the pan gasket). Where is the vent located or does it just use the fill tube/dipstick as the vent. The last time I added fluid it would not drain into the tranny down the check/fill tube. So I assume it is not breathing correctly. Any thoughts?

Default Problem solved

Well, after searching the net for hours and downloading a factory A604 repair manual I have come to the concluision I need the tranny front pump seal kit. $28.00 bucks at the dealership and in stock. Changed the pan gasket again and still have the leak and the +4 ATF laying on top of the transaxle housing. So weird, I guess the torque convertor slings the fluid around and it hits the crank position sensor and then seeps out the runs down onto the transaxle. I am going to clean the tranny up one more time and inspect the diff cover and the outer axle seals to make sure before I have to rip out the tranny. Any extra help/comments and or experience would be great. Thanks!

And yes I will make sure the transmission control solenoid gasket is not leaking. I forgot about those. I have even changed 4 or 5 of them. Still no replies here or is there something wrong with my browser? Thanks

I had that issue twice.

First time, the passenger side axle cracked and was allowing fluid to get past the seal and drip on the ground. Shortly after the axle broke. New axle/seals, no problem.

Then at 150k miles, started having the issue again and had the 4~>3 bumpshift happening. I had just changed the fluid and saw it was leaking from the solenoid area. Bought one off of rockauto.com (113 shipped to my door) and that not only stopped the leak but after a week of driving the bumpshift was gone. Been fine every since and I have almost 159k miles on the car. Runs like a champ.

Oh, just fyi, also look at your transmission cooler lines (rubber lines from the trans to the radiator area). Make sure they're not cracked. I had to replace them on the stratus about a year ago. That was causing a small leak too.

Hope this helps.
