Default Catalytic Converters

Seriously!

My Cats are blocked up.

Nobody sells a universal weld in cat for a 2.7 engine!
so now I have to pay almost 1500 in parts alone to have my cats replaced.

ARGH

does anyone know of a way to do this by myself?
Is there an aftermarket exhaust i can buy that attaches at the headers and has cats for less than 1500?

SHEESH!

or is there a universal cat that will fit on the exhaust?

Someone please help me save 1500 bucks!

unbolt them from the manis and y and dump the catalyst out, bolt it back together. that's what i did on mine prior to getting custom headers built.

For the 2.7 this is a dealer only part because the cats work like header collectors for the manis. Unless you have emissions testing unbolt them. Dump out the catalyst cones, and bolt them back up.
Otherwise dealer or junkyard is the only place to get them.
Tell you this, Gutted cats and muffler delete makes the 2.7 sound awesome!!!

$600 to have my headers built. They're equal length 3 to 1. They were well worth the money. Any exhaust shop should be able to make them.......
Or gut the cats , That'll only cost you the price of the new gaskets.

Ok so im checking a few different muffler shops and some local speed shops to see if anyone can do a decent header build for less than 1500

If your right Smoke I can get a new header built a new exhasut and a Universal catalytic converter for less than two new catalytic converters.

If thats the case BONUS!

I'm actually running 2.5" exhaust from the headers back, no cat, no muffler, just a tube resonator where the factory one should be. Its not overly loud, its hardly noticeable unless I'm WOT, and we don't have emissions to worry about.
It cost me $600 for the headers at a local custom shop, and $200 from there back. Cheapest way is to shell the factory cats.
