Unhappy Tires Warping

I have a 04 Stratus R/T 3.0 Coupe

The tires on my car are not even 2 years old and both back tires are warped on the inside. If you feel around the tire it feels like waves. The tread and everything else is fine on the tires. Just the inside edge is junk. When I reach 60mph my car hums really loud from my tires. I took it in to the Mechanic and he said that there were nothing wrong with my struts. What is causing the warping

when was last time it was aligned?, slight chance it justs needs an alignment(excessive camber), or could be worn or a bent suspension part, check springs ,struts and/or bushings, worn ball joints ,control arm bushings, wheel bearings, out of balance tires(sometimes wear that way),bad tires

Typically, if a tire has 'scallops', that indicates that it needs struts / shocks. Alignment issues could cause excessive wear on the inner edge, but it would be consistent all the way around the tire, not choppy.

Of course, if you have your shocks or struts changed, you should get a wheel alignment afterwards.

It's possible the tires are coming apart internally. It may not be suspension related at all. I've had this happen 4 times with new tires.

what type of tires are you using? Brand and model? Certain tires just have a nature of becoming choppy as it wears, usually Performance tires with HARD treads and sidewalls.

But on your case, Sounds like your alignment is off. too much positive TOE will create a choppy inner edge. do a 4 wheel alignment, adjust rear TOE as well. Also, rear upper ball joints goes bad on your car, check them.
Some shabby alignment guys will only do a front toe alignment send you out of the door.

Here's an idea, rotate your tires and see what it does........
If it starts wearing the rears after rotating then it's suspension, if the fronts (came off rear, already worn) continue to wear funny, replace the tires.
