I have a 99 Stratus with the 2.4 L engine and an automatic/ autostick transmission , well the trannys going out and i would like to replace it , found one its an auto , but the owner doesnt know if its an autostick ;;; what makes it an autostick ??? Is there any difference , i called a few places and they say theres no listing for an autostick ; anyone know anything on this ??

 

The transmission itself is the same, the control box (TCM - Trans Control Module) attached to the top of it is what is different. The autostick basically lets you pick which gear you want to be in at any given time, the non-autostick version lets the TCM do all the thinking. The easiest way to tell is does it go PRND21 (PRNDL), or PRND-+?
