Default 2004 SXT 2.7L - maintenance schedule

Hi all,

I've been very happy with my 2004 SXT 2.7 it has 80,000 on the clock and runs like it was new. Very fast car as well.

Other than oil changes and one transmission service at 50k I haven't touched the car maintenance wise.

So does the 2.7L have a timing belt, if so what's the recommended replacement mileage. Also, what about the serpentine, is there a recommended replacement mileage on that?

Basically what should I be doing at 80,000 apart from giving it another belly full of Mobil 1?

Thanks in advance.

it has a timing chain, the accesory belt recommended replacement is 60,000 miles( mine had 113,000 miles on belt when i got rid of car last month) no problems at all with belt, basically at 78000 and 84000 normal maintence schedule just change oil/filter and rotate tires, and check everything out until 100,000 miles, next major thing you would have to do is coolant and spark plugs at 100,000

I had issues with mobil1 in my 2.7. It had it in it when I bought it at 30k, I ran it for for 2 changes, both times it was black and smelled burnt.
I stopped using it and went to valvoline synpower. I have had no issues since.

Merely saying, be careful 2.7s are very finicky, great motors with tons of potential, but finicky. I currently have 110k of pure abuse on mine and it still runs like new. Regular oil changes 3k, trans flush every 15k, new trans filter every 30k, just replaced belts and antifreeze at 100k.
