Default tire wear

i was wondering what could've caused for the excessive tire wear on a 2003 stratus? i think after years of driving i should be a pro. i also checked the pressure, pressure seems fine.so what do you think? and by the way, can a 100 be enough to replace the bumper absorber of this car?

Bad shocks, struts, bent rims, can all be factors. Riding on more or less then requires PSI in your tires can also result in excessive tire wear. Burn-outs and chirping the tires often can also lead to this.

Your first thing to check is always the air pressure and rims. Make sure the tires PSI matches around 35-37psi. Some low profile tires require hire PSI then others.

The thing that most likely could cause excessive tire wear though is having a bad alignment/balance on the car. I would suggest that if you havent had your tires rotated and balanced and aligned in a while, that you do so immediately. I recommend a balancing on the car once a year at the least, twice if you do alot of mileage. Keeping a proper balance/alignment keeps all 4 tires pointing in the proper direction and keeps them from rolling wrongly on the pavement. Short of some mechanical problem, I'd bet you lunch this might be your problem.

I agree with the above post. Also, years of driving does'nt make a driver a pro, that is, if you're a fast driver, high speeds could be one cause of tire wears.. You should rotate the tires more frequently to avoid wears. I found one shop that offers less than a 100 for an absorber: Fast Body Parts

what brand and model tires are they? some aftermarket tires are one 40,000 miles warranty. the harder you drive on them the more prone to wear. How are the wearing? is it straight across, chopped or wavy on one side or the other, flat spots on the tread ect...
