Default Removing the shifter. Torque?

Hello, I am getting ready to install new carpet and I have become absolutly perfectionist when it comes to this. I wanted no remains, nor residue, of the 15 year old Coca-Cola, Pepsi, candy, coffee, and all the greasy fast food that stained, destroyed, and mutilated the original carpet. I went so far as to scrub the floor pans with Fantastik cleaner and an upholstry brush. There is not a speck of dust anywhere in the car now. The only place I haven't cleaned is the shifter and underneath it. I see crumbs, dirt, sticky stuff and its just full of gunk. I can remove the shifter very easily but when I reassembly it, what is the proper torque of the mounting nuts? My Chilton's manual doesn't say a thing.

Thanks again everybody!
