HELP keep breaking bolt on tensioner
Wednesday on my way to work I felt this thud and the car jolted to the left as I made a right hand turn. It had me worried some but the car seemed to drive alright. On Thursday I took the car to the shop I am going to have replace the rear motor mount (see my other posts) and they coudn't see anything wrong (as in a bad ball joint or anything). So Thursday night on the way to work again, I heard this VERY high pitched sound coming from the engine compartment and then the battery light came on. I immediately turned the car around and took it home and grabbed my Harley and left the car in the garage to cool down. After work (5:30 in the morning) I went into the garage and proceeded to yank the alternator but the pulley seemed to spin freely so here I looked and here the bolt that goes through the top of the belt tensioner busted again. I was like oh great and it was not just broke enough that you could work it loose with pliers but sheared flush. This is the third time that this bolt busted within the last six months. I had to replace the tensioner system due to the piston breaking but I don't know what would cause this imparticular bolt to break. Is it possible that the motor mount on the passenger side of the car is taking a dump and leaning the engine enough to that side to put alot of stress on the bolt??? Any help would be appreciated. BTW the car is a 2002 Stratus SE with the "X" engine code
