Unhappy 1999 Stratus compound electrical issues

Hello, all. I am new to the forum, but am in pretty dire straights electrically speaking.

My 99 Stratus has the following problems:

Turn signals and hazards don't work
Horn doesn't work
Heat/air console doesn't work, but the rear defrost does
Radio doesn't work

I'm at a loss. Thank you ahead of time for any help.

Many of those systems are seperate from each other. I would check to make sure that your fuses are all good, and to verify the ground wires are in good shape.

When you say they "don't work" what is the specific symptoms of each item?

Get a voltmeter and see if you're getting power to the radio, etc.

Thanks for the advice! I've got a multimeter in the mail. I'll let you know what I find.

ratsttam,

Thank you for your help. Your reply made me approach each problem as singular to itself. It is safe to say I am a noob. Here is what I found:

The horn was a blown fuse. The blinkers a bad relay. The heat a bad resistor and a/c control. And I wasn't clear on the radio. It is only the tape deck that is not working. I now believe it to be jammed.

I went to a junkyard and was able to fix the flashers with a new relay. I needed another blower resistor and a/c control module, which I bought, but I believe the resistor to have been a bad purchase. The heat works now, but only on full blast. That being said, I am going to buy a new one with my next paycheck, and I'll let you know how that fairs.

Again, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Good deal. If your turn signals don't work either (or properly), there is a relay under the steering column cover. Check that one too.

With your heat and a/c controls now working, but only on full blast, you need to replace the 10-15$ resistor that is mounted on the blower motor, not the panel where the controls are.
