Another brake noise...
As you'll see in my last thread, I fixed the weird chugging sound by tightening the lug nuts on my 2000 Stratus (bangs head on desk).
But I have another noticeable noise too since I replaced the front rotors/pads yesterday.
When I brake harder than average, I get a clunking sound which I can actually feel a bit. It's like a "crunk-crunk-crunk" when stepping on the brakes pretty hard. It's not activating ABS.
I'm thinking this could be one of the following:
1) Something wasn't tightened up inside properly, like caliper pins or pads.
2) It's just new brakes wearing themselves in.
3) Something else?
When I get home tonight the wheels are coming off and I'm going to double-check the tightness of everything.
Just wondering if there could be some other possible causes for this noise..?
If tightening things up doesn't fix it, and it's possible that the brakes are just wearing in, how long should I expect this noise to continue for?
Do you recommend that I bed in the new rotors/pads at high speed with swift deceleration?
