Hey, I have an 2005 dodge stratus and the check engine light has been coming on for awhile now. It used to go on when I was low on fuel then stutter when shifting gears as well as be temperamental when starting. After I'd refuel it it would go back to normal and the light would go off. I am almost full on fuel and the engine light is on and it wont start. I have had starting problems before but im not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

PS oil is fine, was changed a week or two ago but I'm new to cars and I have no idea how to check the transmission fluid.

 

Since the service engine soon light was on, you are going to need to scan the computer for codes. This will give you a direction on where to start.
