Help 95 2.5L Runs great until it warms up
I have a 1995 Cirrus 2.5L Auto with an odd problem. I just bought the car and was not told it had this problem.
The car runs great until it warms up, normally 10-15 miles. Let it cool down an hour or so a she is prefect again for 10-15 miles.
After that things go down hill. She will start to spit and sputter. Normally will cut off at idle once warm, but starts right back up with a little gas. Runs down the interstate skipping but not enough to keep it from doing 80.
If you keep the RPM around 1800 in N she will still skip but will not shut off.
No engine check light.
To make matters worse sometimes when you restart in N or P the Overdrive will not work and the car will not go over 60 a shift to N or slowing down to first gear speeds fixes it. Again no engine check light
I replaced the CAT and the distributor, neither one fixed it. Removed the thermostat to get a few more miles each morning.
Like I said runs prefect till it warms up after that I have to figure how to drive though town without stopping.
I have already spent too much on this car. Any advice would be appreciated

may have warped head causing coolant to get in cylinder and cause this problem. after it dies out remove spark plugs and look in cylinder for signs of coolant through spark plug hole. also check for excessive white smoke in exhaust.
