Default Electric Locks

Just bought a Stratus for my 16 year old and the electric locks won't work correctly. The fob and the door switch will unlock the doors but won't lock the doors. When using the fob, the horn chirps as if locking but won't lock. All of the other fob functions as supposed to. I am thinking a wire is loose somewhere but not sure where to look. Any help out there?

what year and model(sedan or coupe)?,have you checked fuses, you might try unhooking battery for 10 minutes see if that does anything

I will try that. It is a 2002 Dodge Status Sedan with the 2.7. I read there were separate modules for locking and unlocking but I don't have a clue where it would be to check. Thanks for the reply.

Okay, tried the battery and checked all fuses with same results. Is there a module somewhere that controls the remote and door switch? Strange that it will unlock and sound horn but will not lock.

Well, my '98 Stratus had this same problem on the driver's door. The gearbox was worn out. I replaced the whole assembly for $30 at a junkyard. My guess is the cam or whatever was inside just wore out over time. I mean, the car at 265K miles when I replaced it and it was original.
