Guys, i can feel my fuel pump running when i try and start the car. It sounds like it wants to fire, but it wont. Im lost [once again]. I read that i may need a new cam sensor. My car threw a random cylinder misfire code before i changed the plugs. Now it reads that i pass and dont have any codes. Any help much appreciated

You need to check for spark! You need to get car running again to get most codes! Take a test light connected to GROUND - , see if a spark happens when cranking.

Thanks for that D ryan. I checked and there was no spark. I also sprayed starting fluid in the throttle and still no start. Any suggestions ? Car still turns over but no start. Any help is much appreciated guys !

 

There's your problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First check the fuse's (key must be ON)

Do a visual inspection of the wiring! CRANK and CAM sensors at where they plug in! Also check to see if coil is plugged in.

Find the wiring diagram for your eng. What is it?

on my 96 ram with the 318 5.2 i have no spark at all. i have replaced all the plugs, wires, coil, and now the distributor pick up coil and still nothin anyone one have any ideas?

 

You need to start your own thred, it gets to confusing, you also should do the thred in the right fourm!

Thanks D-ryan! Sorry, i didnt see you had re-responded. For some reason i am still not getting spark. I changed the cap and rotor and still no spark. Just today i purchased a distributer and crank position sensor. Hope this works...
