Default Double question: 2001 2.4 Stratus transmission leak at radiator and wire routing

1) Have a transmission leak from what looks like the upper hose at the radiator. Might be lower as well, can't tell until I remove the air cleaner housing and clean up the area. Can this typically be fixed by replacing the factory spring clamp with a worm gear clamp, or should I try another spring clamp?

2) Also noticed a plastic sheath containing cables routed directly in front of the air intake, blocking some of the opening. Should the rectangular opening facing the front of the car at the end of the duct that that leads from the air intake housing to the front of the engine bay be unobstructed? This was a fleet car wired with (now removed) strobe lights and I don't know what was original and what's been altered electrically.

I had the same leak. It was to the trans cooler. I replace both lines because the one line actually cracked on the bottom side, sending fluid on the bottom side of the line to the transmission and making it look like it was leaking around the transmission solenoid unit.

It's not fun removing the hoses from the radiator side, but take your time. You might need to use pliers, vise-grips and some sort of lube to remove the old rubber hose. The pliers should take care of the hose clamp.

You will need to go get hose from an auto parts store and just swap the hoses.

Not sure what you're talking about, a picture is worth a 1000 words.
