extremely confused about transmission fluid
Hey, I just changed my transmission fluid (I posted a couple days about this)
I put 5.5 quarts in a 2000 2.4L, which as I stated was 1.5 quarts more than the haynes manual calls for, because the dipstick kept saying it was low.
Everything was fine, though, it was always between the two holes after driving for a good half hour.
So I took it and drove it for longer than a half hour, on the freeway at 80 mph for a good hour and a half... started shifting like crap.
go to check the transmission dipstick and its INSANELY overfull.
I thought, well I'm an idiot and wasn't really letting it warm up by driving freeway speeds before checking it.
So I dropped the pan again, put in 4 quarts like it called for, and drove it on the freeway at high speeds for about 45 minutes.
It's still SUPER low. Like, below the 100 degree warm mark.
What the hell is going on here?
