I had my fuel pump replaced by a shop. The gas gauge was accurate and worked great before I had the pump replaced. Now ever since the pump was done the gas gauge is not at all accurate. I did find out that the shop did not unhook the battery could that cause it to not be accurate? Could disconnecting the battery and waiting 5 minutes fix this problem? Any info or help would be great. Thank you for your time.

 

you could try unhooking battery slight chance it might help , the sending unit is part of the fuel pump could be defective might have been damaged(bent) when installed ,loose wires
