Default 2000 Stratus, broken water pump

My 2000 Stratus 2.0 have enden up with a broken waterpump. Will that couse with bent valves and a broken engine or will the engine be ok, when the pump is replaced?

think that is an interference engine , if it broke the timing belt or it jumped timing very possible, depends on how it broke

No your ok.. as long as the car didn't overheat in addition when the timing belt goes that's when you have a higher chance over causing havac to your valves.

I would recommend getting your timing belt replaced if your going to replace your water pump. thermostat ,water pump and timing belt should always go hand in hand. cheaper and I would imagine your hoovering over 100k+

New waterpump and timing belt is replaced. Everything works ok, so far. The pressure at each cylinder is ok (around 9). The testdrive looks also ok. :-)

That's great! How many miles on the Dodge? Did you do the work yourself ? It's really tough to remove and replace timing belt not a lot space to work with

About 180 k kilometers. Yes, I did it by myself. It is not so much space, but enough! .....but you had to know what you are doing... and dont forget to replace the waterpump!
