Default Spark plug socket won't grab spark plugs

As the title suggests, I'm having some issues. I'm working on a 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT and my spark plug socket won't grab the spark plugs on cylinders 1 and 4. By grab, I mean the socket won't fit around the nut on the spark plug. I don't have any problems with the spark plugs on cylinders 2 and 3, but 1 and 4 are driving me insane. Any suggestions?

Trying a different sized socket will probably fix your issue.

I've tried every deep well socket I have. The 5/8 socket works on the other two spark plugs, but slips on the outside ones. It's almost like the socket isn't going far enough down the nut on the spark plug.

I had this same issue about 2 weeks ago. I took my sparkplug socket over to my bench grinder and shaved the socket down until there was no recessed edge where the socket grabs onto the sparkplug. Worked like a charm.
