Stalling at Idle and Running Rough with p0401 code
Hi,
I've got a 2001 stratus R/T with the 3.0. The car runs great when it is cold. (Aside from some intermittent vibration upon idle). Since I bought it I have been stuck up on a P0401 code that claims the egr valve is not opening. So I went ahead and cleaned all the lines and replaced the solenoid first. It still ran but just had the vibration on idle. So i figured i would let it be.
Then two days ago after driving 50 miles or so, it started stalling when I come to a stop and when it idles. Other than that, it still runs great. No new codes. Just that p0401 code. I really don't know what's up and do not wanna have to pay a ton of cash to find out. Anyone know what can be Going on here?
P.s. we ran it on the computer and it is saying there's a vacuum deficiency.
P.s. i really just wanna fix the stalling. Unless its egr related, I really don't wanna dish the money for that yet.

I would guess your egr passage is cloged and needs to be cleaned out. I am not 100% sure but all you have to do is remove the throttle body and clean out the port with some carb and choke cleaner. Not a hard job if you have a little mechanical know how. Here is a link to a run down of what would have to be done. Just the post by Vincent_G:
