Axle Issue While Changing Struts
Needed to change struts on front of our 2004 Stratus SXT Sedan. While changing the driver side I removed the top ball joint in the upper control arm and pulled the wheel assembly down a bit to afford myself enough room to remove the strut assembly.
When I did this apparently I pulled the axle out of the back of the outer CV joint. When I noticed what I had done I cut the bands holding the boot on and pulled it back and wiggled the splined end of the axle beck into the CV joint. It didnt seem to slide very far into the CV joint but it all went back together and the car drives fine but I'm still worried that the axle may not be far enough in the CV joint or that there is some other issue that I'm not aware of.
Is there something I missed or should be worried about? Is the axle going to somehow come out of the back of the CV joint? Any advise would be great.
